Lightning collects no data. Everything the app does happens on your device.
Foxbit Software Ltd. built Lightning as a free app with a one-time in-app purchase. Lightning is a thunderstorm simulator. It has no accounts, connects to no server of ours, and contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. There is no account to create and no profile to fill in. The app bundles no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers.
Camera
On iPhone, Lightning uses the rear camera flash to simulate lightning strikes. It switches the flash on and off — it never opens the camera to capture or record, and never reads your photos or video. Nothing from the camera is stored or sent anywhere.
The camera permission prompt exists solely so the app can control the flash. Apple TV and most iPads have no such flash and use the on-screen glow only; the Apple TV build requests no camera access at all.
Purchases
Lightning offers a one-time in-app purchase, handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Restoring a purchase uses Apple's StoreKit and likewise involves no collection of data by us.
Data storage
Your settings and saved presets are stored only on your device, and in your personal iCloud backup if you have device backups switched on — which Apple manages, not us. They are never uploaded to us.
Children
Lightning collects no data from anyone, including children.
