Privacy Policy

Foxbit Software Ltd. built MyBus Winnipeg and MyBus Vancouver as a free, ad-supported app. This policy covers both. Neither app has an account or a login, and neither has a server of ours behind it.

Two things do involve data: the transit information the app fetches so it can show you departures, and the advertising it carries. Both are described below.

Location

The two apps handle this differently, so it is worth being precise.

MyBus Winnipeg sends your coordinates to the Winnipeg Transit API so it can return the stops nearest to you. That request is what finding nearby stops consists of. It is not tied to an identity — there is no account — and it is not used to track you.

MyBus Vancouver does not transmit your location at all. Nearby stops and search are resolved on your device from a bundled schedule snapshot, and only stop identifiers — never your coordinates — are sent to TransLink’s real-time feed.

In both apps, location is used only while you are using the app, and only to place you on the map and find stops near you.

Advertising

Both apps are free and carry ads served by Google AdMob. Google’s ad SDK collects, and uses to track you across apps and websites:

• Your device’s advertising identifier, for third-party advertising
• Product interaction data, for third-party advertising and analytics

It also collects crash, performance, and other diagnostic data, which is used to keep the ads and the app working and is not linked to your identity or used to track you.

On first launch the app asks your permission to track, using Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, Google serves non-personalised ads instead. You can change that decision at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking.

Google’s handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy rather than by ours.

What stays on your device

Your saved favourite stops are stored only on your device. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and because there is no account there is nothing for them to be attached to.

What we never collect

We collect no contact information, no health or financial information, no contacts, messages, photos, audio, or browsing history. Foxbit operates no servers for these apps and receives no data from them.

Children

These apps are not directed at children, and we knowingly collect no personal information from them.

Changes to this privacy policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new revision date.
